Traditional Farmhouse B&B
Quaint Stone Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast in Rural Exmoor
Harton Farm Nr Tiverton, is a 17 th century cottage-style, south facing farmhouse at the end of a private lane. It is situated in a hidden valley set among trees in an area of gentle hills just off the southern edge of Exmoor National Park . As such, it is an ideal touring centre for market towns, National Trust properties and many gardens including Rosemoor. The walking on Exmoor is excellent over open moorland, by the coast, or along river valleys through woodland.
The flower garden greets you as you approach the house down the lane, and the fruit and vegetable gardens are behind the stone buildings which make up the inner yard. A wide range of produce is grown including many unusual herbs and speciality crops. Meals are home-cooked, including the bread and icecream, and also the pork, beef and lamb are produced on the farm to high standards of welfare. Good, wholesome food and plenty of it is what Harton provides. A vegetarian menu is available too.
Robin and Lindy keep Exmoor Horn sheep and their crossbreeds, Gloucester Old Spot pigs, chickens (spaniels permitting!) and various cats and working dogs. All the animals are very people-friendly, and are used to being handled. Children are welcome to join in the job round.
