Hornhill
In
the 1700s Hornhill was used as a coaching inn when wool was transported
from Exmoor to the port of Topsham for shipment to the continent. It
has been the home of the Pugsley family for over 100 years and we hope
you will come and stay. Enjoying wonderful views over the Exe valley
we offer excellent "home from home" accommodation with all
the little extras to make your stay enjoyable.
One bedroom has a Victorian four-poster bed, a family
heirloom, and the other on first floor is a twin-bedded room. Both have
private bathrooms with bath and shower. The bedroom on the ground floor
is suitable for "the not so mobile" and has an en-suite shower
room.
There are lots of places of interest around Tiverton.
Several National Trust properties (we can see Knightshayes from the
sitting room window!), Exeter, Dartmoor, Exmoor and lots more. Even
the Eden Project is not too far.
If
you prefer you can relax in the garden or explore the many footpaths
in the area (we can supply maps so you won't get lost!). The Grand Western
Canal with the horse drawn barge is just at the bottom of our hill.
On wet days, hopefully few, the sitting room is yours with lots of books
and a log fire on chilly evenings.
There are several good pubs locally for evening meals
and Exeter has lots of restaurants, maybe you could combine it with
a trip to the Northcote Theatre.
We look forward to seeing you at Hornhill.
