The cathedral city of Exeter has a fascinating history and is a lively
cultural centre with its university and its combination of ancient and
modern buildings. The recently redeveloped quay has a variety of craft
and antique shops. Boats and bikes can be hired to enable you to explore
further along the canal.

some good specialist shops and the ancient church of St Boniface. Many
of the towns in the Heart of Devon have regular farmer’s markets
where you can sample local produce for which the region is rightly
famous.
There are many village pubs and restaurants with excellent food and
local cider and ale. Killerton and Knightshayes are two National Trust
properties in the area, both fascinating houses with wonderful gardens.
